Capital One Canada Becomes Title Sponsor of the BlackCreek Summer Music Festival

TORONTO, ON (May 17, 2011) – Capital One Canada and the BlackCreek Summer Music Festival  announced today that Capital One is the new title sponsor for the BlackCreek Summer Music Festival  that will be held annually in Toronto, Ontario, at the Rexall Tennis Centre on the grounds of York University. The Festival  will now be known as the Capital One® BlackCreek Summer Music Festival. The curtain will rise on June 4, 2011 with the Festival’s inaugural performance by revered tenor, Plácido Domingo — making his first Toronto appearance in over a decade.

The BlackCreek Summer Music Festival represents the first Concert Series involvement for Capital One® and will provide exclusive best-of-class VIP concert experiences for Capital One® cardholders. All Capital One® cardholders will receive a special  BlackCreek Summer Music Festival gift certificate good for $25.00 off each ticket purchased to the concert  of the cardholder’s choice, up to a maximum of four tickets. BlackCreek’s 2011 season will host concerts throughout the summer months featuring Symphonic, Pop, Opera, Jazz, Broadway, Country and Gospel Music Concerts with renowned artists including Plácido Domingo, James Taylor, Lionel Richie, Tony Bennett, and Diana Krall,  John Fogerty and  The Levon Helm Band, Chris Botti and Pink Martini, The London Symphony Orchestra, conductors Lorin Maazel and Marvin Hamlisch,  classical concerts featuring spoken performances by Dame Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons,  iconic country artists Brad Paisley and Alan Jackson, and  more to be announced .

The Capital One®  BlackCreek Summer Music Festival concerts at the Rexall Tennis Centre amphitheatre will seat between 11,000 and 14,000 spectators — including 46 private luxury boxes — depending upon seat and stage configuration for the individual performances.  The seating design of the octagon-shaped amphitheatre and the size of the stage give the Rexall Centre an appreciable intimacy not typically found in other such outdoor settings.  With an open-view stage, superb acoustics and enhanced lighting, sound and video, audiences are assured of  enjoying the performance from any seat in the venue.
